Multimedia Integration Under Windows Table of Contents - Introduction Brochure on Report, Who needs this report and why. A high level perspective. 6 pages A Technology Reference for Strategic Planners. What you need to know about PC multimedia hardware and software during the era of host-based signal processing on the X86. Multimedia Integration under Windows is a 350 page technical marketing analysis of PC multimedia hardware and software implementation strategies. Inspired by Intel's Native Signal Processing initiative (NSP), it is intended to serve as an up to date, analytical technology resource for strategic planners and architects of PC systems and semiconductors. The report studies technologies, standards and algorithms behind the multimedia subsystems which are affected by NSP, comprising the full array of consumer PC audio, video and communications functions. Released in the spring of 1996, the report has become available just as Intel resurrects NSP, reinforced with the P55C and MMX. The report contains functional descriptions with an analysis of implementation options for individual media processing tasks such as DSVD, 3D audio, speech recognition, video conferencing, music synthesis, modems, 3D graphics, voice encoding, plus an in depth study of motion video technologies. It also includes pertinent information on the new generation of media processors and Windows real time support issues.
